NEPTUNE CITY, N.J., June 6, 2018 – Marquis Health Services has completed the $2.5 million renovation of Coral Harbor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Neptune City. The 110-bed skilled nursing facility, located at 2050 6th Ave., directly across from Hackensack Meridian Health’s Jersey Shore University Medical Center, provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.
“At Marquis Health Services, we take great pride in our efforts to provide the best in quality care to all of our patients and a positive work environment for our staff,” said Norman Rokeach, chief executive officer. “Our renovation of Coral Harbor has created a modern, home-like atmosphere while updating the facility to support expanded programming. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”
Marquis Health Services launched the renovation immediately following its acquisition of Coral Harbor in 2016. Highlighting the physical improvements, the firm completed a complete overhaul of the long-term care floor. This included updating common areas and patient rooms – including flooring, wallpaper and artwork, private showers, and flat-screen televisions.
Marquis Health Services also created dedicated sub-acute rehabilitation suites as part of the project, and constructed a new therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment – such as a smart car to help patients simulate actual daily living skills during the rehabilitation process. Coral Harbor’s dining room, public spaces and elevators also have been renovated, while outdoor enhancements feature general landscaping upgrades and a resurfaced parking lot.
Coral Harbor Expands Programming
Coral Harbor’s programming has been augmented as well. New specialty cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs now operate at the facility seven days per week; piped-in oxygen enhances the facility’s pulmonary care services. Additionally, a chronic kidney disease management program provides routine nephrology oversight and consultative visits, an onsite community support group, and disease-specific education.
“We will continue partnering with top medical providers and area hospitals like Jersey Shore University Medical Center to work on developing programs that enhance our skilled nursing care options,” added Rokeach. “Our goal is to develop programming that meets the specific needs of the Neptune City-area community.”
Coral Harbor maintains a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and this spring received a nursing excellence award from the New Jersey Association of Directors of Nursing Administration/Long Term Care, Inc., for earning a 12-month deficiency-free survey from the New Jersey Department of Health.
