As announced by TripleCare:
NEW YORK, N.Y., June 21, 2018 – TripleCare, a national provider of telemedicine-based healthcare to the post-acute care sector, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), announced today its services were recently unveiled at two Marquis Health Services locations. Marquis is among the Northeast’s leading providers of sub-acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, with a growing portfolio that currently includes 18 skilled nursing properties in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region.
TripleCare is bringing its virtual physician care and services to patients’ bedsides at Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Beverly, Mass., and Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Oakland, N.J.
Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation within a three-winged, 132-room, single-level community. The facility offers advanced medical programs for addressing post-acute and complex medical needsOakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a 215-bed facility, offers sub-acute rehabilitation, dementia care and long-term care wings, and specializes in cardiopulmonary and orthopedic rehabilitation.
TripleCare’s distinctive telemedicine approach spans a network of experienced physicians who use technology to connect to patients at skilled nursing facilities during the weekends and on holidays, when physician staffing is more limited. By offering full physician accessibility and support during these times, TripleCare’s services are intended to treat patients in place and aid in reducing hospital transfers.
TripleCare combines its physician expertise and technology with support from local, on-site nurses at both Marquis facilities, and employs its telemedicine-based protocols to perform bedside exams, in real time. TripleCare’s virtual services make it possible for its physicians to diagnose and determine whether a patient should be treated at the facility or transferred to a hospital.
“We look forward to working with Marquis as our telemedicine services continue to help facilities such as Blueberry Hill and Oakland Rehabilitation increase their patient census, elevate treat-in-place rates, lower return-to-hospital (RTH) incidences and distinguish themselves in their local marketplaces. Our mission is to help our clients reduce or avoid hospitalizations and readmissions, and with our physician connectivity, we bring facilities and their patients comfort in knowing they can achieve this,” stated Dr. Mary Jo Gorman, TripleCare’s chief executive officer.
“In fact, of the patients we have treated in place, on site, since recently launching services at both Marquis-owned facilities, we have prevented hospitalizations for more than half of them,” Gorman explained.
Norman Rokeach, chief executive officer of Marquis Health Services, added: “In a fairly short period of time, TripleCare’s telemedicine services have already made a difference in helping our facilities achieve better outcomes and are giving greater peace of mind to our patients and their families. At Marquis, we continually strive to differentiate our facilities and leverage telemedicine technology for the benefit of our patients, their families and caregivers, as well as our clinical teams. By harnessing services like TripleCare, we can make a positive impact, and we look forward to more opportunities to bring virtual services to other Marquis facilities.”
Marquis’ Webster Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center location in Rockland, Mass. is scheduled to launch TripleCare’s telemedicine services in the third quarter of 2018.
