A new, million-dollar sub-acute care unit at Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and a five-star rating in U.S. News and World Report’s 2017 “Best Nursing Homes” feature reflect a commitment to enhanced services and quality patient care at the 84-bed West Philadelphia skilled nursing facility. The achievements continue the property’s ongoing progress under the ownership of Tryko Partners and operation by its healthcare affiliate, Marquis Health Services.
The newly opened, dedicated sub-acute rehab wing houses 30 private rooms for individuals recuperating from an accident, surgery or illness, and features fine dining and a patient lounge. Tryko Partners, which acquired Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in 2011, over the past five years also has added a 2,200-square-foot therapy gym and completed extensive upgrades throughout the building’s common areas.
Additionally, Marquis Health Services has introduced a comprehensive cardiac program and other services developed in partnership with leading Philadelphia-area hospitals. “We take immense pride in our beautiful facility and our excellent working relationships with regional healthcare providers,” noted Norman Rokeach, chief executive officer for Marquis Health Services. “Our efforts continually focus on meeting regional needs for comprehensive, highest-quality skilled nursing care provided in a comfortable, home-like environment.”
Recognized as one of Philadelphia’s bedrock skilled nursing facilities, Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is staffed by a carefully assembled team of medical professionals and nurses. “Our patients benefit from expert medical care, individualized treatment and state-of-the-art rehabilitation,” noted Brian Galinkin, administrator of Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. “All of this hinges on our staff and administration, and their dedication to Kearsley residents and families.”
The U.S. News and World Report five-star achievement marks the sixth time in as many years that Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has earned “top performer” marks in the annual report. The facility also received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) – meeting and exceeding standards of quality care.
Located at 2100 N. 49th St., Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center sits on the 13-acre estate of Dr. John Kearsley, which also includes age-restricted rental housing at Kearsley Apartments and Kearsley Square – the nation’s oldest retirement community.
This continuum of care is well-suited to Tryko Partners, which specializes in both skilled nursing and multifamily ownership and operation.
“Many companies target one niche or the other, but our dual focus makes the Kearsley campus a natural fit,” noted Uri Kahanow, Tryko Partners director of acquisitions. “The Marquis team has done a great job of instilling its distinctive approach to uphold and enhance Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center as a vital part of this dynamic property.”
Based in Brick, N.J., Tryko Partners and Marquis Health Services currently are involved in 2,400 skilled nursing beds (including several additional U.S. News and World Report five-star rated facilities). Tryko Partners also maintains a portfolio of more than 7,200 multifamily units along the Eastern Seaboard and in the Midwest.
